While driving through the remote mountain roads of Wales, dodging the occasional suicidal sheep, I eventually stumbled upon Elan Valley. Just as the sun before the sun dipped below the horizon, the late afternoon sun spilled its last rays of the day over the glaciated valley, bringing out the highlights in the meander and the subtle textures of the floodplain.
