I headed to the west coast of Guernsey to try and capture the waves hitting the coast. The previous shot I knelt down on the pebbles, only to be hit by a wave soaking all of my camera equipment. After wiping down all lenses and filters of salt water I had another attempt. I waited until a medium size wave came so not to obscure Lihou island in the background. I got as close as I could to the action as I feel it is important to give the sense of 'being there' to the viewer. I knelt down and waited for the backwash to flow down the beach and the next wave to form to take the photo. It required a 3 second exposure in order to capture the whole proces in a single image.
